The Advanced Learning Center works with academic departments, administrative support groups, and other institutions on projects and programs ranging from the testing and rollout of technology services to committees seeking additional input on integrating technology into teaching, learning, and research.

Current and Past Projects and Programs:

  • Course Management System Migration from WebCT 4.1 to Desire2Learn 8.x
  • Testing of Respondus Lockdown Browser for use with WebCT
  • Video Collaboration Tools (Web and client-based)
  • Mac Bootcamp Testing: Evaluation of feasibility of using an intel-based Mac for utilizing both Windows and Mac OS environments for rich media production
  • Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) RFP process for Course Management System
  • inSORS Desktop Video Collaboration Pilot: Evaluation of desktop video collaboration tool through a joint project between Fogelman College of Business and Economics, the Advanced Learning Center, and the Information Technology Division. Initial report due May 2006.
  • Technology Fellowship Program (TFP): This program includes ten faculty from ten different academic disciplines. Their skills vary in IT experience and sophistication of IT use. The common theme of this program is to improve instructional technology skills to impact deeper learning for their students. It is a cohort program that runs for a 12 month period. The program consists of asynchronous collaboration as well as face-to-face activities. (Our participation in the NLII Bridging Community Pilot Project enabled usage of the iCohere collaboration software.)
